A general overview of our trip to the Caribbean is as follows:
We’ll circle Michigan stopping at marinas or anchorages with a planned recess in Presque Isle to visit friends. Then an additional extended stop for at least a few days on Lake St. Clair and the Islands of Lake Erie, likely about 2 weeks from now. We’ll transit the Welland Canal to Lake Ontario, then up the St Lawrence Seaway. Of course we’ll spend some time in Montreal and Quebec among other stops and then on to Nova Scotia. We’re anticipating at least one additional crew along a good portion of the Seaway, Captain Huey a native of Nova Scotia that we met last year on Lake Superior. We’ve planned to haul the boat out of the water around Labor Day weekend in Boothbay , Maine to apply salt water bottom paint, install a water maker and a macerator pump. That will take 2 to 3 weeks. Hopefully we’ll attend the Annapolis Boat show on 7, October, and then we’ll meet the third week in October in Hampton, Virginia with approximately 150 to 200 other boats for a flotilla to the Caribbean via Bermuda. By mid November we should be drinking Caribbean rum and fruit juice.
